Princess Roro spoke to King Bandung. "I will marry you," she said. "You must build many temples for me." She asked for a very big number. "Build them in one night," she said. It was a very hard job to do.
King Bandung said, "I will do it." He had some special help. Magic helpers came to build the temples. They worked very fast in the dark night. They built many temples very quickly.
Princess Roro watched them work carefully. She saw he was almost done. She felt very worried now. She did not want to marry him. She needed a new plan very quickly.
Princess Roro had a clever idea. She told her friends to light a fire. They burned some dry grass. The fire made a bright, big light. It looked like morning was coming soon.
The magic helpers saw the light. They thought the sun was coming up. They went away very quickly. They stopped building the temples. The work was not finished yet.
