Once upon a time, a man named Ku Anyi walked in a green forest. The trees were tall. The air was quiet. He walked slowly. He looked at the ground. He saw something strange. It was a big, shiny egg. It sat on the soft earth. Ku Anyi felt wonder. He did not know what it was. He picked it up carefully. He took the egg home.

The next day, Ku Anyi walked again. He went to the forest. He found a tall bamboo stalk. It was not like the others. It looked special and strong. Ku Anyi touched it gently. He felt a little magic in his hand. He took this bamboo stalk home too.

At home, a great thing happened. The big egg started to move. It moved slowly and softly. Then, it changed. A little baby came out. It was a boy baby. Ku Anyi was so surprised and happy.

Then, the bamboo stalk moved. It also changed softly. One more baby came out. This was a girl baby. Ku Anyi felt so much joy in his heart.

He had two babies now. They were twins. This means two babies born together. Ku Anyi named the boy Jau. He named the girl Iru. He loved them very much. He cared for them each day. He gave them food. He kept them warm.

Jau and Iru grew up. They became strong and happy. They started a home of their own. Their family grew big. Many children came. Their family became many people. These were the first Bulungan people. It was a new start for all. Long ago, wonderful magic started something great.
