Once, there was a boy named Bambang. He had two good friends. Their names were Lego and Legi. They were good boys. They learned and played as friends each day. They liked to run and laugh. They were very happy as friends. They played many games. Then Lego and Legi went home. But they stayed very good friends. They wrote letters to each other. One day, Bambang heard bad news. A king had taken his friends. The king was not nice. His name was King Jaya. He was a strong king. King Jaya said, "Get me a white tiger. Dig a big tunnel for me. Then you can have your friends back." Bambang was very sad. The tasks were too hard. But he did not give up. He tried to think of a way. He thought hard day and night. His father came to help him. He gave Bambang a small toy. It was a rooster doll. "This will help you," his father said. The toy was magic. Bambang did not get it. He dropped the toy on the ground. It changed! It became a real rooster. The rooster flew away into the sky. A white cloth was on the ground. The cloth was soft and white. The cloth changed too! It became a white croc. "Hello, Bambang," the croc said. "I can help you." The croc was kind and brave. Bambang told the croc his problem. The croc smiled. "That is easy," he said. He called his friend, a white tiger. "Help the king," the croc told the tiger. The tiger nodded and roared. Bambang rode on the croc's back. They went to see the king. Bambang gave the tiger to King Jaya. The king was very happy. He smiled a big smile. "Now dig the tunnel," the king said. The white croc dug and dug. Water came out from the ground. The tunnel was done! It was a long, dark tunnel. The king was very pleased. King Jaya let Lego and Legi go. Bambang was so happy to see them. The friends hugged and smiled. They were back as friends. The king gave Bambang a big prize. The prize was gold and jewels. All were happy. They danced and sang songs. Bambang helped his friends. He was kind. Kindness and trying bring good things.

ilmunya terkenal hingga jauh ke luar kerajaan. Sebagai anak seorang resi, ia mendapat
pendidikan yang sangat cukup dalam hal ilmu kanoragan dan kesempumaan hidup.
Di padepokannya, ia memiliki dua orang saudara seperguruan yang bernama Lego dan Legi.
Mereka bertiga sangat akrab layaknya saudara kandung. Senang dan susah selama di
padepokan mereka rasakan bersama. Setelah selesai menuntut ilmu, Lego dan Legi pulang ke
daerahnya. Akan tetapi, persaudaraan mereka bertiga tetap terjalin akrab.
Pada suatu hari, Bambang Widyaka mendengar kabar bahwa dua saudara
seperguruannya itu tengah disekap oleh Raja Jaya Widarba. Bambang Widyaka pun segera
mencari tahu bagaimana cara membebaskan mereka. Rupanya Raja Jaya Widarba sudah
menyiapkan rencana untuk meminta tebusan. Sebagai syarat pembebasan Lego dan Legi,
Raja Jaya Widarba minta agar Bambang Widyaka menyerahkan seekor harimau putih yang
hanya setia dan bisa diperintah oleh Raja Jaya Widarba serta membuat terowongan bawah
tanah yang menghubungkan kerajaan Alis-Alis dengan Sendang Beji yang ada di wilayah
kerajaan Ngrowo. Raja Jaya Widarba yang terkenal kejam itu mengancam akan menghabisi
Lego dan Legi apabila dua permintaannya tidak berhasil dipenuhi oleh Bambang Widyaka.
Dua syarat pembebasan dua saudara seperguruannya itu dirasa benar-benar berat oleh
Bambang Widyaka. Ia tidak habis pikir bagaiman caranya memenuhi permintaan yang nyaris
mustahil itu. Untung saja, Bambang Widyaka bukan tipe pemuda yang mudah putus asa. Ia
tetap mencari cara guna memenuhi permintaan Raja Jaya Widarba. Berhari-hari Bambang
Widyaka mencari pemecahan atas masalahnya, mamun belum ketemu juga. Dalam
kegelisahannya yang mendalam, tiba-tiba muncul Resi Jati Pitutur yang tidak lain adalah
ayahandanya. Tanpa sepengetahuan Bambang Widyaka, resi mahasakti itu telah berdiri di
hadapannya. Tanpa diminta, sang resi kemudian memberi Bambang Widyaka sebuah boneka
ayam jago.
”Ngger Putraku, niatmu untuk membebaskan Lego dan Legi sangat mulia. Ayah sangat
bangga Angger Bambang punya rasa welas asih terhadap saudara. Terimalah ini sebagai
bekal,” kata Resi Jati Pitutur.
"Oh Kanjeng Romo. Terima kasih Romo sudah datang. Boneka ayam jago? Romo
memberiku boneka ayam jago?” tanya Bambang Widyaka sambil mengamati boneka ayam
jago pemberian ayahnya.
"Bukankah Raja Jaya Widarba mengajukan syarat untuk kaupenuhi?" tanya Resi Jati

“Benar, tapi bukan minta boneka ayam jago, Romo,” jawab Bambang Widyaka masih
tak mengerti maksud ayahnya.
"Boneka ayam jago itulah yang akan menolongmu nanti."

Belum sempat berucap terima kasih, Resi Jati Pitutur telah lenyap dari hadapan
Bambang Widyaka. Bambang Widyaka semakin bingung, tetapi kini ayahnya telah pergi
sehingga ia tidak mungkin dapat bertanya lagi.
Bambang Widyaka mengamati boneka ayam jago itu telah berada di tangannya. Ia tetap
tidak tahu bagaimana cara menggunakannya untuk memecahkan masalah yang sedang
dihadapinya. Dalam kebingungannya, Bambang Widyaka secara spontan membanting
boneka ayam jago yang dipegangnya ke tanah. Ajaib, boneka itu seketika berubah menjadi
ayam jago. Ayam jago itu kemudian berkokok dengan suara yang sangat nyaring dan merdu.

Usai berkokok beberapa kali, ayam jago itu terbang ke hutan. Anehnya, bersamaan
dengan melesatnya ayam jago ke hutan, tergeletaklah sehelai kain putih yang sudah lusuh dan
kucel. Bambang Widyaka berniat mengambil kain putih lusuh yang tergeletak di tanah itu,
namun sungguh ajaib karena kain putih tiba-tiba berubah menjadi buaya putih yang bisa
bicara.
"Jangan terkejut wahai Bambang Widyaka!” kata buaya putih itu.
"Si...si...apa kau?” tanya Bambang Widyaka tergagap karena terkejut.
"Akulah yang akan membantu menyelesaikan masalahmu,”
"Bagaimana caranya?”
”Bagaimana aku bisa menjelaskan caranya jika kau belum menceritakan masalahmu.
'Ayo ceritakan semua, aku siap membantumu.”
Bambang Widyaka akhirnya mengutarakan permasalahannya kepada buaya putih yang
kini telah menjadi sahabatnya itu. Buaya putih itu mengatakan bahwa masalah yang dihadapi
Bambang Widyaka adalah masalah kecil. Ia akan mampu menyelesaikannya dengan baik.
Buaya Putih kemudian memanggil saudaranya si Harimau Putih. Dalam sekejap, harimau
putih itu telah datang. Kepada harimau putih saudaranya, buaya putih berpesan agar ia mau
“menjadi abdi setia dan hanya tunduk pada perintah Raja Jaya Widarba. Harimau putih itu pun
menyanggupi demi membantu Bambang Widyaka.
Ketiganya kemudian terbang menuju kerajaan Alis-alis. Bambang Widyaka naik di atas
pundak buaya putih. Tidak lama kemudian ketiganya telah sampai di kerajaan Alis-alis. Salah
seorang pengawal raja menyampaikan kedatangan Bambang Widyaka bersama buaya dan
harimau putih. Raja Jaya Widarba menyambut kedatangan Bambang Widyaka dengan
senang hati. Harimau putih itu kemudian diserahkan kepada Raja Jaya Widarba dan hanya
oleh sang rajalah harimau putih itu mau diperintah.
Kini tinggal satu syarat lagi yang harus dipenuhi Bambang Widyaka agar bisa
membebaskan dua saudara seperguruannya. Bambang Widyaka sudah tidak cemas lagi,
terowongan bawah tanah pasti akan segera terwujud karena ada buaya putih yang siap
mengerjakannya. Buaya putih segera masuk ke dalam tanah yang telah ditunjuk oleh Raja
Jaya Widarba. Tidak lama kemudian menyemburlah air yang berlimpah. Hal ini sebagai
tanda bahwa terowongan yang dibuat oleh buaya putih sahabat Bambang Widyaka benar-
benar tembus sampai Sendang Beji di kerajaan Ngrowo. Mengetahui hal itu, Raja Jaya
Widarba sangat bersukacita. Ia pun menepati janjinya untuk melepas Lego dan Legi.
Sang Raja rupanya sangat senang dengan Bambang Widyaka. Ia kemudian
menjodohkan Bambang Widyaka dengan adik permaisurinya yang bemama Dewi
Kadamningrum. Keduanya pun akhirnya menjadi suami istri. Karena kecakapannya, Bambang
Widyaka kemudian diangkat menjadi patih di kerajaan Alis-alis.
